Winter Parking Restrictions
Beginning November 1st
There is 'No Parking' on the North side of Main Street (even numbered addresses) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m.
There is 'No Parking' on the South side of Main Street (odd numbered addresses) on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday's from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m.
There is 'No Parking' on the East side of A Street (even numbered addresses) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m.
There is 'No Parking' on the West side of A Street (odd numbered addresses) on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday's from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Around Triangle Park, there is 'No Parking' on the A/Dr. Smith Street and 1st Street for a period of 48 hours after a *Snow Day.
On 4th Street (between Main & Ann Streets), there is 'No Parking' for a period of 48 hours after a *Snow Day.
*A 'Snow Day' is a day when there is a snowfall accumulation totaling two inches within the 24-hour period ending between 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
**A 'Snow Emergency' exists when proclaimed by the Mayor, after consultation with the Street Superintendent, but only in those circumstances where the National Weather Service has predicted that two or more inches of snow or ice will fall in the McGregor area or two or more inches of snow or ice has fallen in the McGregor area. Upon declaration of a snow emergency, the Mayor shall publicize the snow emergency parking restrictions. The snow emergency shall continue through the duration of the snow or ice storm and the 48-hour period after cessation of the storm. During a snow emergency no person shall park, abandon, or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or public right-of-way, unless snow has been removed or plowed from said street, alley, or public right-of-way. Such emergency may be extended or shortened when conditions warrant.
City parking lots are available on a first come basis and are located on Front Street (24 hour parking limit), 1st Street (72 hour parking limit), Main & B Street (24 hour parking limit), and the lot immediately east of Steve's Silver Dollar (24 hour parking limit).
